As a long-time education activist, Dan has led the efforts to improve our children’s future in the earliest, most important stages of primary education.   He has seen the great benefits an after-school program can give a child’s life through his involvement in youth sports as a coach and father.

Dan’s true focus lies in reforming how we approach education to create a more efficient, better managed, and more successful multi-district system in Albuquerque.  He has led the movement to create separate school districts with greatly improved accountability standards, which extensive research has shown will create a better education for our children.  The ultimate goal is to improve the low graduation rates from our high schools with college or work-ready graduates.
