A successful small business owner, Dan understands the realities of New Mexico’s economy.  In the short-term, small business must drive the economic recovery and provide the jobs we need right now.  Dan supports programs like the “Increment of One” that Bernalillo County has just committed to, providing 400 new jobs in local businesses through incentives. 

As a commissioner, Dan will push for the creation of  and support a "one-stop shop" for small businesses at the County.  This Business Desk will handle all concerns the business community has in getting access to the resources to satisfy government requirements.  Minimizing the negative impact that regulations can have on the business community is a primary concern for Dan Serrano.

Long-term solutions must focus on attracting new, sustainable industries, both homegrown and from beyond New Mexico.  Dan believes this is accomplished in no small part by breaking the cycle of exporting our college-educated children to other states due to a lack of good jobs, while struggling to bring new industry to New Mexico due to a lack of educated workers.

It is time to get people back to work.  Dan Serrano has the vision to make it happen.
